SOLO CUP DISTRIBUTION CENTER
This facility was completed on a fast-track, one year schedule allowing the owner to quickly realize the cost-benefit of a more consolidated supply chain in their southeast region.
A leader in the manufacturing of consumer packaging products (disposable beverage cups, disposable plates and bowls), Solo Cup Company engaged BatesForum and Clayco to design and build their new super-regional distribution center featuring cross dock operation, 30-foot clear storage space and maximized dock positions.
The new facility provides these features within a durable, high quality and technically superior tilt-up concrete building. The design and construction were completed on a fast-track one year schedule which was delivered two months ahead of schedule.
The architectural design organizes the office space as a corner pavilion with stepped walls framing the composition. Several grey tones painted in reveal areas accentuate the window grid. A metal clad canopy forms an arcade entrance collecting visitors and staff from the parking and drop off area.
