FLUOR CORPORATION WORLD HEADQUARTERS
The Fluor Corporation had a unique requirement to relocate their world headquarters within nine months of the announcement to relocate. Design, build, and move in—nine months.
A leading multinational engineering and construction firm, Fluor Corporation’s aggressive building challenge was led by BatesForum with the design and construction of their new global headquarters.
Two offset wings accommodate all office functions and are connected by a three-story linear atrium that includes the primary entrances, conferencing and collaborative spaces. An enclosed “history walk” chronicling Fluor’s emergence as a global construction company connects the main building to common amenities including the auditorium, meeting rooms, a cafeteria, a fitness center, and the covered 300-car parking structure.
Due to the demanding schedule for construction, site-cast architectural concrete panels clad in locally quarried limestone were used to establish a contextual materiality further enhanced by native plantings for the site landscaping. Careful attention to sustainability including solar orientation and day light harvesting resulted in achieving LEED certification for this project.
