EHI partnered with BatesForum to create a choice driven, free-address workspace which fosters a range of individual to collaborative spaces for idea sharing and innovation.

In early 2015, EHI partnered with BatesForum to lead a comprehensive Workplace Study and create a new Workplace Strategy for the IT group. A multi-month process of visioning exercises, observation studies, workplace assessment surveys and imaging exercises were conducted to collect data and deeply understand what IT teams need to most effectively work. A Leadership Group, a Workplace Committee and Core Team were closely involved to evaluate the findings and recommendations and provide feedback.

The resulting design is a choice driven, free-address workplace where employees consider the entire floor as their office with a multitude of work setting choices to specifically meet the work task. Employees are empowered to choose to activate their work day by changing postures and locations throughout the day.

The work settings are dispersed among a range of zones from individual focused work to highly collaborative team work designed to foster idea sharing and innovation. Technology was strongly leveraged to support employee mobility and facilitate collaboration. The space was designed to allow teams to easily expand, contract and reorganize without the complication of assigning space.

Leading up to the occupancy of the building, BatesForum also provided Change Management services that focused on communication with employees and educating them on the new environment. Enterprise Holdings moved into the building in December and has quickly embraced the space with much enthusiasm.
